Researchers from the University of Aberdeen will lead the project, funded by Cancer Research UK, to look at three ways of reaching women least likely to engage with screening due to embarrassment or fear of a painful test.The first offers a selfsampling kit to women who visit their GP for another reason. The second will trial a text service and the third will involve a nurse calling women to offer the option.Data from Public Health Scotland shows women in the most deprived areas of the country are twice as likely to develop the disease and three times more likely to die from it.
