Anger as 1000 jobs on line in wake of Horizon

THE Post Office has come under fire over plans to close 115 branches and axe 1000 jobs in the wake of the Horizon scandal.

Bosses yesterday unveiled the shake-up, which could involve handing the sites it owns to retailers such as WH Smith.

Hundreds of further roles are under threat at its HQ.

Communication Workers Union general secretary Dave Ward said: "For the company to announce the closure of hundreds of Post Offices hot on the heels of Horizon is as tone deaf as it is immoral.
