REEVES EYES INHERITANCE IN TAX RAIDS

A RAFT of tax rises including inheritance tax, fuel duty, stamp duty, and a levy on e-cigarettes - are being considered by Labour in its first Budget, reports claim.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves is also expected to honour the previous Tory government's plans to make about £3billion of cuts to welfare by reforming work capability rules in her fiscal statement on October 30.

Work and pensions minister Alison McGovern did not steer away from the reports when asked about them yesterday but said Labour was making its own reforms" to the benefits system.
