Riot cops on streets as fire thugs strike again

BONFIRE Night chaos broke out again last night as rampaging thugs attacked cars with fireworks and set blazes in the capital.

Police in riot vans were deployed to Edinburgh's Niddrie amid expectation of the annual Guy Fawkes disorder which has taken place in the area for the past two years.

Specialist officers were called to assist local police who were forced to shut a road after reports of rockets being thrown by youths at vehicles.

Dramatic pictures showed blazes in the Niddrie area with one being set alight near a children's playpark near Castleview Grove.

In another shocking clip online, plumes of smoke rose over the Niddrie area as a huge police response raced to the scene.
