Sea barge hell as storm hits wind farm site

AROUND 200 workers building a massive wind farm in the North Sea were left stranded and running out of food on a floating barge due to Storm Bert, it's been claimed.

German energy giant RWE, which is constructing its flagship Sofia offshore wind project in Dogger Bank, off the UK coast, admitted supplies ran low after a failure to deliver food supplies to labourers.

Insiders claimed workers were left nearly "starving" but the firm insisted there was always adequate food and water on board.
