PETER WRIGHT insists critics just don't see turmoil happening behind closed doors as he offered support to an emotional Cameron Menzies.
Snakebite gave strong words of encouragement to his fellow Scot in the wake of the 35-year-old's painful Alexandra Palace episode.
Menzies was in tears during his loss to Leonard Gates as the stresses of sport and family life took hold.
As well as competing in the biggest Championship in the game, the Ayrshire star had to deal with his father Ricky being in hospital and coming through an operation.
Devoted family man Wright knows all about the strains, having gone through anguish when his beloved wife Joanne was rushed to hospital during the Grand Slam tournament two years ago.
He said: "I saw a little clip that he was in tears. It's not nice.
"I haven't watched the game but I know he used to play in the same pub team in the league as his dad. I hope everything's going OK. Hopefully everything's all right.
