FOOTBALL legend Graeme Souness has said fundraising for charity has allowed people to see “the real me” as he was made a CBE.

Rangers and Liverpool great Souness, 71, was honoured for his services to football and charity by the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle.

The Gers hero is vice president of Debra UK which raises awareness of epidermolysis bullosa, known as butterfly skin, a rare condition that causes the skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch. He started working with the charity six years ago, befriending young sufferer Isla Grist and helping to raise £1.5million for research into the disease.
