£1BN 'SINGLE' BENEFIT SCAM

BENEFITS being pocketed by cheats who claim they live alone have spiralled to almost £1billion a year. 

Three years ago the total amount was £215million.

The latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions estimate cash overpaid to “single-swindlers” totalled £965million, although the worst estimates put it at nearer £1bn.
