CARLOS SAINZ edged out Max Verstappen by just 0.013 seconds to take pole position in front of the delighted Ferrari faithful at the Italian Grand Prix.

Carlos gets it Sainz and sealed for Monza pole

The Spaniard just outgunned his Red Bull rival, with Charles Leclerc third in the other scarlet car at the Monza circuit. 

“It was such an intense qualifying session,” said Sainz after the thrilling battle.

“All three of us went for it, and I went for it and it worked well. I really pushed hard on that last lap.

“I have had goosebumps since I crossed the finish line.

“Watching the crowd and getting out of the car and seeing this is incredible.
