SIR Keir Starmer has asked the boss of Timpson's shoe repair business to fix our broken prisons.

The Prime Minister announced businessman James Timpson as his prisons minister as he unveiled the new Cabinet.

Sir Keir said yesterday: "We've got too many prisoners, not enough prisons.

"We will fix that but we can't fix it overnight and therefore it is impossible to simply say we will stop the early release of prisoners."
