LEIGH.......... 14
CATALANS..30
LEIGH’S Wembley heroes paraded the Challenge Cup but this tilt at Super League leaders Catalans Dragons proved a game too far.
A week after their historic cup victory over Hull KR, Adrian Lam’s side lost ground on their French visitors in the race for top spot.
They shrugged off their final celebrations to lead 14-12 at the break but ran out of steam to leave them in fourth spot, six points behind the Dragons.
“I am deflated because I wanted to win to get a crack at that first spot on the ladder,” said Lam. “I thought it was a game we could have won. But I don’t want to take away anything from last week’s victory.
To share the moment of walking the cup round the field with the fans was unbelievable.
