GAVIN & Stacey's Steffan Rhodri almost turned down the role of Dave Coaches because he had never heard of James Corden and Ruth Jones.

He shot to fame playing the bus-driving boyfriend of Ruth's Nessa -known for her catchphrase "Tidy".

But he confessed: "It was just another job at the time.

"I nearly didn't do it because my agent thought it was too small a part.
