GANNON is counting down the days to his first game back - after an enforced break of almost a year.

Leeds Rhinos' talented young second-row has not played since suffering a concussion in February's friendly against Hull KR.

It was his second serious head knock in pre-season, having already missed the 2022 Grand Final due to a concussion and much of the following year with similar issues.

That led to a specialist deciding in May that the strong-running Yorkshireman should sit out the entire 2024 Super League campaign to protect his brain.
