विधानसभा से विपक्षी सदस्यों के बहिर्गमन के बीच, हेमंत सोरेन सरकार के सोमवार को विश्वास मत हासिल करने के बाद पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री चंपई सोरेन और झामुमो नीत गठबंधन के 10 अन्य नेताओं ने मंत्री के तौर पर शपथ ली। राज्य की 81 सदस्यीय विधानसभा में मनोनीत सदस्य ग्लेन जोसेफ गॉलस्टेन सहित कुल 45 विधायकों ने विश्वास प्रस्ताव के पक्ष में मतदान किया। भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) और ऑल झारखंड स्टूडेंट्स यूनियन (आजसू) के विधायक मतों की गिनती शुरू होते ही सदन से बाहर चले गए। भाजपा के नेतृत्व वाले विपक्ष के पास 24 और आजसू पार्टी के तीन विधायक हैं। विश्वास मत हासिल करने के बाद हेमंत सोरेन ने कहा, "आज एक बार फिर सबको सत्तारूढ़ गठबंधन की एकता और ताकत देखने को मिली। मैं (विधानसभा) अध्यक्ष और गठबंधन के सभी विधायकों का आभार जताता हूं।”
