AT least seven people were killed and several wounded after a gunman opened fire at a Jehovah’s Witness meeting hall in the north German city of Hamburg.
Police say the gunman acted alone and is thought to have killed himself at the scene, bringing the total death toll to eight. Authorities declared “a mass casualty incident” after reports of “at least 25 shots” coming from the Kingdom Hall in the Gross Borstel district of Germany’s second-biggest city at roughly 9.15pm on Thursday.
The gunman is a former member of the religious community, aged between 30 and 40, Der Spiegel magazine reported today.
