Timberlake, 43, was pulled over after being seen to stray out of his lane and ignore a stop sign after a night out in the upmarket Hamptons resort of Sag Harbor, 100 miles west of New York City.
US gossip site Page Six reported the arresting officer was "was so young that he didn't even know" who Timberlake, pictured right, was and "didn't recognise him or his name".
They also reported that after the arrest the singer, who is in the middle of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, said, "This is going to ruin the tour" prompting the policeman to ask, "What tour?".
