CM demands list of refugees housed in Delhi, Union minister attacks AAP

NEW DELHI: Senior leaders of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday once again sparred over the issue of immigrants allegedly living in the national Capital. While AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and chief minister Atishi blamed the BJP for "helping Rohingya refugees to settle" in the city, Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the AAP was "spreading false narratives".

Emphasising further on the issue, Atishi wrote to Union home minister Amit Shah, alleging that the BJP-led central government "for last several years" has been helping a large number of Rohingya refugees to settle in Delhi.

"Who brought Rohingyas to Delhi? Why is the BJP government depriving Delhiites of their rights to accommodate them? Is the central government now admitting its failure to secure the nation's borders?" Kejriwal asked during a press conference, and hit out at the Centre for its alleged failure to secure the country's borders.
