According to the officials, the shooting incident took place on December 30 in the Godhar area when the gang attempted to steal diesel. They encountered a truck driver and his helper, who were awake then.
A confrontation arose when a gang member demanded chewing tobacco from the driver, and he refused. During the ensuing scuffle, the gang opened fire on the driver and his helper, who got injured.
