The deceased were identified as Paramjit (48), who only goes by one name, of Saaran village, Rishi Pal (45) of Mangloura village and Arun Kumar (30) of Mandebari village, all from the district of Yamunanagar. The identity of the fourth victim could not immediately be ascertained. At least 16 deaths have been reported in the past four days across five villages, including Panjeto Ka Majra and Phoosgarh, of Yamunanagar district. Two people reportedly died in Ambala district.
Yamunanagar police, which has formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the matter, said it arrested three local men Mahender, a liquor contractor, Subhash and Radhe, who all go by one name - on Saturday. Ten people in total have been arrested in the district, including two illegal vendors, and four in Ambala in connection with the case.
