Singapore envoy flags typo on sign at high commission, NDMC changes it

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) was left red-faced on Sunday morning after Simon Wong, the high commissioner of Singapore, pointed out that his country's name had been incorrectly spelled on a signage board installed outside the high commission at the diplomatic enclave in Chanakyapuri.

The high commission, on its official page on X (formerly Twitter), shared in a post, "It is always good to spell check first. The post was attributed to Wong, and had photographs attached one, of the signboard, which incorrectly spells the name of the country as "Singapur", and the second of the high commissioner sitting in the sun, wearing a T-shirt which spells the name of his country correctly.
