The ad hoc committee in charge of running the sport met on Thursday but couldn't come to a decision.
"The committee met for over three hours and discussed the criterion for the trials, but a final decision on the dates is yet to be taken. We need a couple of days to arrive at a definite conclusion," said a sports official close to ad hoc panel head Bhupender Singh Bajwa.
Last month, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) had requested the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) to extend the deadline by a month. The OCA wrote back to IOA on Tuesday.
