A CHAMPION racehorse trainer who sexually abused boys for decades has been sentenced to 30 years in America - six years after his release from jail here.
Daniel Mullan, 84, was celebrated in the US in the 1970s for training Secretariat, a racehorse that made history as the first US Triple Crown winner in 25 years in 1973.
Mullan's success earned him a luxurious globetrotting lifestyle and lucrative work in countries like Saudi Arabia where he worked for the late King Abdullah, who bred Arabian horses.
A court in New York convicted Mullan, who has dual US-Irish citizen, of sexually abusing boys - including one as young as eight or nine - from the 1980s to the 2000s and gave him the maximum sentence available.
His lawyers had pleaded for the minimum mandatory sentence, which is 10 years behind bars.
The pervert, who previously served a five-year prison sentence in Ireland for abusing a young boy in Co Mayo in the 1990s, was given a 30-year sentence for child porn offences in the US on Monday.
Evil pensioner Mullan pleaded guilty last November to sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child pornography.
