THE Air Corps yesterday unveiled its new workhorse plane that can go further and faster and carry more weight than the aged aircraft it is replacing.

The Spanish-built Airbus C295 flew into Air Corps HQ at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel, south Dublin, yesterday morning.

It will be patrolling Ireland's skies by the end of the year.
