BUD BATTERS AND FRIES THE BIG FISH

TERENCE CRAWFORD said he was out to 'fry' the man who had labelled himself as 'the big fish' at welterweight.

Few expected Crawford to leave Errol Spence Jnr battered though.

That's just what 'Bud' did for nine rounds to become the first male fighter to reign as the undisputed king in two divisions as he stopped Spence Jnr to hand him his first ever defeat.

Crawford, 35, took the WBA, IBF and WBC welterweight titles from his fellow American to add to his own WBO belt and cement himself as the best fighter on the planet.

This was supposed to be a 50/50 clash between two contenders vying to be crowned this era's king of the ring.

But it was a one-sided masterclass on a night in Las Vegas where Crawford emerged as not only the best fighter at present, but also put himself in the mix alongside the sport's legends.

The Omaha native walked past pictures of some of the greats at 10st 7lb on his way to the ring at the T-Mobile Arena.
