Community left broken at beach death of Emili, 7

A YOUNG girl who lost her life in a sea tragedy would have turned eight today.

Emili Roman was swept away "very quickly" from shallow waters at Fountainstown Beach in Co Cork on Tuesday.

The death of the schoolgirl, described as "kind with a bubbly personality" has left the community of Crosshaven and surrounding areas "broken".

Emili's parents Martha and Slawomir were at the beach during the three-hour search.

They, along with Emili's twin brother Jeremy and big sister Inga, are being supported by friends and the community.

The search was launched after the alarm was raised at around 4.40pm. Sadly, Emili's body was recovered from the water at around 7.45pm.
