COURT LANDS A BLOW TO MARCUS

SHAMED socialite Marcus Sweeney has settled a €100k case with the Criminal Assets Bureau and agreed to hand over 2.78 hectares of land.

The settlement means that the Celtic Tiger restaurateur is not contesting the proceeds of crime case that was taken against his firm EWM Property Holdings Limited by the CAB.

The CAB had identified the land portfolio located in Co Meath saying it was amassed through the proceeds of crime.

The 45-year-old former partner of tragic model Katy French, who did not appear in court, has now until 11am on Tuesday, April 4 to "vacate the property.
