Cruel chants about son's cancer nearly saw Stephen quit..

SHAMROCK Rovers manager Stephen Bradley considered quitting after cruel thugs chanted about his son's cancer diagnosis.

The footie boss, whose son Josh was diagnosed with leukaemia last year, has opened up about the vile incident involving a small number of Cork City supporters in May.

He said the disgusting taunts cut even deeper after losing his mum to colon cancer in 2016.

Speaking yesterday, he added: "Hearing it's cancer' is devastating, your whole world is turned upside down in the blink of an eye.

"As a parent, your job is to protect your kids at all costs.

"When cancer hits, you can't protect them at that time and that's the worst thing.
