FOUNDER member of the Eagles Randy Meisner, whose falsetto voice was so distinctive it came to define not only his band, but the entire California sound, has died.

The 77-year-old bassist, who sang Eagles hit Take It to the Limit, passed away on Wednesday night in Los Angeles of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

He had endured numerous health issues in recent years, and a personal tragedy in 2016 when his wife, Lana Rae, accidentally shot herself and died.
