Fears feud will erupt in Drogheda again after new attacks

THERE are serious fears the Drogheda drugs feud could erupt again after a series of arson attacks, intimidation and antisocial behaviour in the town.

The warning was issued by Sinn Fein TD Imelda Munster who said the whole community was getting very concerned again and tensions are rising.

She praised the gardai for dismantling the two main gangs involved who between them left four people dead.

More than 200 people were arrested and dozens convicted and jailed during a four-year crackdown in response to the feud led by recently retired Chief Supt Christy Mangan.
