TWO Coldplay concerts at Croke Park next summer could be doubled to four gigs and residents are not expected to object, it is claimed.
But fans fear they have already been targeted by rip-off prices for the doubleheader with some accommodation listings demanding €4,000-a-night.
After days of speculation, the band, which had initially not scheduled any Irish nights, confirmed two Dublin dates yesterday.
August 29 and 30 are planned, subject to licence, as part of the Music Of The Spheres world tour.
The 2024 gigs are not guaranteed to go ahead until they are formally approved by the council, while local residents will have opportunities to oppose the events.
But Croke Park resident Pat Gates and Dublin City councillor Nial Ring told the Irish Mirror it is expected the dates will be approved.
Former Dublin Lord Mayor Ring also revealed two extra dates could be proposed if the initial two are sell-outs.
