Gardai probe €4m coke find link to tycoon

GARDAI are probing if a millionaire businessman had his hand in a shipment of cocaine - €4million of which washed up on the Irish coast.

Investigations are continuing into the finds which saw two 30kg bales of the drug recovered in Co Donegal.

The first was on Tramore beach near Dunfanaghy and the other at Ballyhiernan at Fanad Head on July 19.

As part of the major probe, gardai are working to establish if the drugs were part of a larger shipment.

Sources said a former target of the Criminal Assets Bureau from the North may have had his hand in the shipment.

Gardai are also looking into the possibility if the drugs were destined for the north east.
