GRAN ON 'TERROR' CHARGES

A WOMAN accused of sending cash to a terror group told gardai "it's not terrorism, it's my son, he has four wives", a court heard yesterday

Uzbekistani Atica Umat, 68, was among six people charged with money laundering and international terrorism financing.

It follows a probe by the Garda Special Detective Unit, which charged the six Uzbek and Irish nationals yesterday after the Director of Public Prosecutions issued directions to bring about 200 charges.

Former truck driver Oybek Jabbarov is accused of 101 alleged offences.

Umat, mother-of-three Fatime Jabbarov, 43, and Oybek Jabbarov, whose address was given as Gravel Walk Court, and Muhammad Amin, 37, of Summer Street North, all Dublin, were each charged with money laundering in connection with alleged offences in the 2010s.

Abdurahim Mhadhbi, 25, and Dawood Mhadhbi 22, both of Dodderbrook Terrace, Ballycullen in the south of the city, face the same charges.
