HE'S FUR TOO GOOD

ELATED skipper Callum McGregor told Kyogo Furuhashi he's 'the best striker he's ever seen' after his winner sealed a statement triumph.

McGregor was beaming after a magnificent display helped Celtic to silence the Ibrox crowd.

The captain was back to his brilliant best in the middle as he controlled the opening period.

As Rangers attempted to stage a second-half comeback, McGregor cajoled and organised to ensure his side saw it through.

Kyogo's brilliant third goal of the season was enough to get the job done for Celts. McGregor smiled: "What a finish. Unbelievable. I said to him: I think you are the best striker I've ever seen!

"In big moments, he is ice cold. He shows his quality yet again and shows his importance to the club."

Brendan Rodgers (inset, with. Daizen Maeda) has taken a bit of time to make the big statement in his second spell as Celtic boss.

It may have taken a big favour from referee Don Robertson and VAR official Alan Muir to help, but a moment of sheer brilliance from Furuhashi and a team dogged with determination just provided it.

Rodgers didn't need another win at Ibrox to prove anything. He had enough of them the first time around.
