IT WON'T BE THE CRYDER CUP

RORY MCILROY believes a new generation of European stars led by Ludvig Aberg are ready to stop the Ryder Cup ending in tears this year.

The Ulsterman cried after a crushing record defeat to the Americans in 2021.

But a changing of the guard will see Luke Donald's rejuvenated team with four rookies in Rome, including super Swede Aberg (right).

The former amateur world No.1 earned a late wildcard by landing the Omega European Masters on only his ninth professional start.

Aberg continued his winning ways by teaming up with Viktor Hovland to beat McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood on a trip to the Italian capital earlier this week. "It was amazing to be there," said the four-time Major champion.
