Top of the league, top of their game, Shamrock Rovers were dominant here in The Showgrounds, yet you still felt they had another gear to go.

Now, with 16 league games to go, they have the four-in-a-row in their sights. Only one side can stop them.

They’re called Shamrock Rovers.

But so long as the Hoops avoid complacency then a history-equalling title will be theirs – because no other team in this league has the depth to match them.

Sligo found this out the hard way. They put up a fight but ran out of steam, Shamrock Rovers’ Jack Byrne excelling in midfield, winger Neil Farrugia competing for, and ultimately edging, Byrne for the man of the match award.
