ROSE of Tralee Roisin Wiley hailed the festival’s new co-host Kathryn Thomas for the great advice she gave contestants.
The 27-year-old was crowned at the pageant in Co Kerry last month.
Although her parents are from Co Limerick, the marketing and sales professional represented her home state of New York.
Roisin said Kathryn, who shared RTE presentation duties with Daithi O Se for the first time this year, offered advice about communicating clearly on stage.
She said: “Daithi was very nice and easy to talk to.
“He was a bit more joking and wanted to just make us laugh.
“Kathr yn was very focused on helping us find what our message was and, ‘What do you want to get across on stage?’ was something that was very important.
“It was nice to have the balance between the two.
“I loved having the two presenters. I thought it was a nice change-up for the show.”
