MICHAEL Lyster says he was glad to work at RTE until retirement age after dealing with health issues.

The presenter almost died from a heart attack at his family home in 2015.

But he recovered and continued to work for a further four years at The Sunday Game and only stepped down at the age of 65 – as is compulsory for all staff at the national broadcaster.
