Mendy's tears

FORMER Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy wept after he was cleared of two sex attacks.

The French international, 28, was found not guilty yesterday of the rape of one woman and the attempted rape of another at his Cheshire mansion.

He had told the court any sexual activity was consensual.

In January this year Mendy, who is now out of contract at Treble winners Manchester City, was found not guilty of six rapes and one sexual assault.

But the jury in that trial could not agree on verdicts on two other charges, which led to a three-week retrial at Chester crown court.
