And he refused to visit the site of the refugee crisis near Inch, Co Clare, where protesters are camped out.

The Integration Minister said he was willing to meet the protesters "online" and suggested they can send a delegation to his swanky Dublin 4 offices in Miesian Plaza.

He told the Irish Mirror: "As I've said, I'm very open to an online engagement or if a delegation wish to meet us in the department, I'm happy to do so."
