TODAY is the 30th anniversary of what still stands as Derry's sole All-Ireland senior final triumph.
Eamonn Coleman's side beat Cork by 1-14 to 2-8, with Seamus Downey grabbing the goal and Enda Gormley slotting six points.
It was only Derry's second final ever, having lost to Dublin in the 1958 decider, although this year's crop came agonisingly close to making it three before being edged out by Kerry in the semi-final.
This Saturday night the men of '93 are meeting at the Roe Park Resort in Limavady to mark the anniversary of the most famous day in the county's history.
At some point there's a fair chance someone will ask Derry's full back from that final, and four-time All Star Tony Scullion to say it.
"God save us, parents coming over to me with wee young ones, Ah will you say this for wee Johnny," laughs Scullion.
"Unbelievable. An innocent one liner. You wouldn't believe the amount of people that come up to me and ask me," he says.
