NORTHERN COMFORT..

PATRICK Kielty "kept it local" on his second night presenting The Late Late Show with a series of Northern Irish guests.

Once again introduced by a recording of Gay Byrne, the Co Down man arrived onto the set full of life, but with a much shorter monologue than last week.

He gave a flavour of what was coming up on the show, but did joke: "We've made it to week two - and they said it wouldn't last!"

Last week's debut drew some criticism for the poor calibre of guests, but he opened last night's with a coup - Northern Irish actor Jimmy Nesbitt, who was joined by Vogue Williams and Baz Ashmawy.

Not all comments on social media were positive, however.
