DOG and cat owners may be more likely to experience disturbed sleep than those who do not have pets, research suggests.

Scientists also found having a pooch was associated with greater odds of having a sleep disorder.

The team said moggy owners had a higher chance of having leg jerks or restless leg syndrome.
