<p>The BBC and Netflix have commissioned World Productions to make the six-part, factual drama based on the real events surrounding the bombing on December 21, 1988.</p>
<p>Pan Am flight 103 was over the Dumfriesshire town of Lockerbie when a bomb exploded in the hold killing all 259 people on the plane and 11 on the ground.</p>
<p>Speaking about the new series, BBC commissioning editor Gaynor Holmes said: &ldquo;It was an atrocity which shocked the world and changed lives forever.&rdquo;</p>
