Soccer team suspended for failing to give out kids' personal data

THE FAI is at the centre of a storm after it emerged a children's soccer team has been suspended for failing to give personal information on youngsters.

It has emerged the Data Protection Commission has asked to meet with soccer chiefs over the dispute.

It comes after Wicklow club Ardmore Rovers was suspended by the Dublin and District Schoolboys'/ girls' League for failing to provide details about the children involved.

Just before the season started, the DDSL asked parents to upload copies of personal documents and photos of their children in order to register them to play in competitions.
