STARDUST INQUEST: SISTER WAS NEVER THE SAME AFTER HER BROTHER DIED

THE sister of a teenager killed in the Stardust fire has told the inquest of how the trauma of her brother's death had a huge impact on her.

Donna O'Connor said it caused her to withdraw into herself so badly that she could not be around people if they started talking about him.

Delivering a pen portrait of her brother, George, 17, at the Dublin District Coroner's Court yesterday she said: "Two things in life change you and you're never the same: love and grief.

George O'Connor was one of the 48 victims of the Stardust fire who lost their lives when the flames swept through the nightclub in Artane in the early hours of February 14, 1981.
