THEY'RE the country's celebrated teachers classiest for going above and beyond their call of duty.

And the four from across Ireland were honoured yesterday in a ceremony hosted by Miriam O'Callaghan.

Jenny Hutton was among those to get a Teachers Inspire award – part of an initiative that aims to highlight the work our educators do - at the awards run by Dublin City University.

She was nominated after taking care of little Christopher Maguire when his mum Susan had to stay in Spain after the premature birth of his baby brother Daire on holidays during the pandemic.

Susan told how Christopher was upset and anxious when he returned to St Fiacc's National School in Co Carlow.

But Jenny, 32, took the time to comfort him and answer his questions about what was happening.
