CESAR AZPILICUETA has said an emotional farewell to Chelsea - after writing his name into the club's history books.
Azpilicueta, 33, became the first Chelsea player to win EVERY club trophy: Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League, Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Chelsea have allowed him to join Atletico Madrid on a free transfer as part of a golden handshake for a loyal defender who has enjoyed a remarkable 11 years at Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea fans nicknamed him "Dave" out of irony because of his hard-to-pronounce surname and the Spain international posted his own message saying: "You called me Dave, I'll always call you home."
Azpilicueta said: "It's difficult to express how I feel. It has been incredible. Thank you to everyone because it couldn't have happened without the help of a lot of people. What a journey.
