CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN has hailed Manchester United's Danish connection with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg tipped to join him and Rasmus Hojlund at Old Trafford.

United have had some great Danes playing for them in the past, including legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, Jesper Olsen, John Sivebaek and another keeper, Anders Lindegaard.

Striker Hojlund joined Eriksen at United this summer, signing from Atalanta for £72million, with Erik ten Hag potentially ready to make it a hat-trick of Danes with a move for £35m-rated, out-offavour Tottenham midfielder Hojbjerg.

And Eriksen, who scored the goal that sparked United's comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at home to Nottingham Forest last weekend, knows all about the Danish lineage at the Theatre of Dreams.

Schmeichel made 398 appearances for United before leaving after the Treble triumph of 1999, Olsen played 178 times for the Reds, while Sivebaek made 34 appearances, scoring United's first goal under Sir Alex Ferguson.
