Wren Dennehy, 29, from Leixlip, Co Kildare, is set to play primary school teacher Simon Webber.

Their character will hit our screens on Tuesday with their storyline involving Paul, Dean, Sean, Tommy, Joan and Anna.

Speaking to the Irish Sunday Mirror, Wren said their family is excited about seeing them in the show, which they have always been a fan of themselves.

Wren said: "The part of Fair City came up and they were looking for a drag performer who could also act and I fitted the bill.

"It's an absolute dream to be honest.

All of the crew and the make-up team, the wardrobe team, they were all really invested in my input into the character because obviously a drag character is something new for Carrigstown.
