WESTLIFE manager Louis Walsh has strongly hinted the band will play a number of gigs in Ireland next year.

The Mayo pop mogul was speaking ahead of Westlife’s first ever North American tour next year, adding that they are global stars now.

He told RTE Radio One’s Brendan O’Connor show: “They are bigger than ever in Japan and China, everything is sold out. In Asia, they are huge in that part of the world.”

Louis added that they still love performing. “We do love what we do but it’s 23 years later. They have great songs.

“I am hoping Westlife will come back and play the Aviva and Croke Park next year or the year after.
